The Palm Scanner can also be used for circulation when you can't access Alexandria’s circulation module, due to power outages or difficulties.Simply scan in the students information, just as you do in the Alexandria circulation module, scan in the book and then hot-sync the information into Alexandria when the system is again available. The Palm III includes interactive programming to integrate with your Alexandria library automation program.

You also get personal/library management capabilities with the Palm III. The scanner comes with a built-in calendar feature that allows you to track scheduled events. Librarians can set the alarm on the schedule feature to alert them of important dates or meetings. The scanner also includes a built-in to-do list for quick reference to critical functions and a searchable phone/address book to store vendors and other contact information.
